Foreshores Rising is a set of haunted sound objects made from items collected over the course of 3 years, via the slow practice of mudlarking, across various shores along the river Thames.
The set (x 12) form an improvisational environment or self sounding installation, inspired by the eery collisions of time that unfurl amidst these spaces, objects and architectures.
Thinking around material memories, animism,
assymetries of abundance, the environmental and social impact of the histories these items point to; how the past casts spectres on our present - this project seeks to animate these objects into a haunting improvisational soudscape.
A selection from this project will be debuted and performed with at Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival 2024.
